Program management

The Technical Training Program is managed by the TVET Unit of ETC. The TVET Unit is composed of a team of five senior TVET experts, supported by a secretariat and financial support staff. The team is responsible for the overall promotion, management and implementation of the Technical Training Program. The TVET experts also offer technical assistance in the various stages of developing and implementing a training project.

Since its start in 1998, the Technical Training Program has facilitated the implementation of more than 300 technical and vocational education and training projects all over the world. These projects have strengthened the technical capacities of hundreds of teachers, trainers, technicians and their respective organizations.

In 2010, the program involved over 25 projects, representing a volume of 
€ 550,000. These projects were implemented in the following countries: 

  • Africa: Ethiopia, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Mali,
    Senegal, Uganda, Zambia
  • Asia: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Vietnam
  • Middle East: Palestinian Territories

The projects were implemented with the following organizations in developing countries:

  • technical schools
  • vocational training institutes
  • NGOs
  • GOs
  • private enterprises

In 2009 and 2010, some projects were implemented in cooperation with Dutch partners, such as Practica Foundation, Derde Wereld Werkplaats, Edukans, ROC Eindhoven, ROC West Brabant, Stichting Bondgenoot.
